CHOPS - FEB-06-09 - ABOUT THE DJ

Finally someone of stature shows the importance of the DJ. As the MC for the Goontribe, I can say that we try our best to play urban music in a different way. That is why I believe that our Sunday nights at Tokyo Bar have lasted for so long. We are not mainstream nor are we underground... I feel that we appeal to both groups and that is why our crowd is so diverse.

I wanna thank all the people that have supported us throughout the years and that appreciate what we do. We have a great passion for music and we love sharing it with you. There's nothing like hearing a crowd sing along to what we play or seeing couples getting it on on the dancefloor. We appreciate the people that come to the booth and show us love or holler at us on the streets. We LOVE what we do. When the lights come on, it's a great feeling to know that you wanna hear more. There's been a few nights where the crowd applauded at the end of the night. I can't tell you how good it felt to know that you really love what we did.

Our "job"(if you can really call it that) is to rock the crowd and I hope we can continue to do this for a long time!
